Cortex Buddy Beta Tester Agreement

Thanks for being one of the first people to try Cortex Buddy. Before you get access, please read this — it’s short, and it’s here to protect the product while it’s still young, not to lock you into anything scary.

1. What you’re getting.

Early, unpaid access to Cortex Buddy while it’s in private beta. Nothing about this beta costs you money, and nothing here is a purchase, an order, or an offer to sell you anything.

2. Keep it between us for now.

While you’re testing, please don’t share, post, screenshot, record, or describe outside this beta:

• how the product works — its features, how they’re built, how they behave, any mechanism or flow you notice, even in casual conversation or on social media;
• anything we tell you directly that isn’t already public (roadmap, pricing plans, internal names, upcoming features);
• your login, invite link, or access to anyone else.

You can tell people you’re testing something and that you like it (or don’t!) — just not what it does or how it works. If you’re not sure whether something’s fair game, ask first ([email protected]) — we’d rather answer a quick question than have you guess wrong.

This doesn’t cover anything that’s already public through no fault of yours, that you already knew before we told you, or that you’re legally required to disclose (in which case, please give us a heads-up first if you’re allowed to).

3. Your feedback helps us build.

Anything you tell us — bug reports, suggestions, “it’d be cool if,” complaints — you’re giving us permission to use freely to improve Cortex Buddy, including building it into the product, without owing you anything for it. You’re not required to give feedback, and you keep the right to say the same idea to anyone else too — this just means we’re free to use what you tell us.

4. No benchmarking, no public comparisons, no public screenshots.

While confidentiality applies (see Section 5), please don’t publish screenshots, screen recordings, performance comparisons, or reviews of the product outside private conversation. If you want to share something publicly — a screenshot, a shoutout, a review — just ask us first; we’ll probably say yes.

5. How long this lasts.

Your confidentiality obligations under Sections 2 and 4 last until the specific feature or mechanism you saw is publicly launched or publicly described by us — at that point, only that thing is fair game; everything else you’ve seen that’s still unreleased stays covered until it launches too. Simple version: once we ship it and talk about it publicly, you can too.

6. This is a beta.

Nothing is promised to work, stay the same, or keep existing. Features can change, break, or disappear without notice. We’re not liable for anything that goes wrong from using an unfinished product, beyond what the law requires. This access is unpaid, can be revoked at any time, and doesn’t create any employment, partnership, or ownership relationship between you and Cortex Buddy.

7. Agreement.

You accept this agreement by clicking “I agree” in the beta-invite flow (we record the click, when it happened, and which version of this document you saw). If you ever receive access some other way, using your invite link means you agree too.
